Why We Do It
Getting into college has never been harder. Applications keep climbing, acceptance rates keep falling, and the process itself has become a maze of deadlines, requirements, and essays that changes every year.
Meanwhile, the average U.S. school counselor carries 372 students and spends under a fifth of their time on college advising. That works out to about one hour per student, per year.

Our Story
Going through the college application process with our two kids was tough. It's complicated and students have to figure it out a lot on their own. Even though our kids went to one of the best high schools in the country, the counselors weren't around much to help. They're super busy, expected to juggle countless students with very little time to spend on college stuff. It turns out the typical public high school counselor only spends a couple hours per student a year.
We heard hiring a college consultant could help, so we did a bunch of research and interviewed tons of people. After talking to dozens of the best consultants in the US, we hired two for our kids. Each brought their own strengths, but no one person could cover everything. And they have busy schedules, just like many professionals in high demand.
There were still parts of the process our kids needed more help with—because it’s a lot to manage. So, we made our own tools to help them out. Our system became an indispensable companion alongside the expert advice they were getting. And they got into their top-choice schools. When we talked about our experience, we found out lots of other people had the same issues. So, having founded a number of successful software companies, we decided to use our engineering and product development skills to make something better. Much better.
