FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Q) How does CollegeEase increase acceptance rates? CollegeEase increases a student’s likelihood of admission by bringing structure, strategy, and expert insight to every part of the college application process. Here’s how: - Builds a strategic college list using a personalized survey that matches students with schools where there is a strong fit and a realistic chance of admission—maximizing both opportunity and outcome. - Recommends less competitive majors that still align with a student’s interests and career goals, increasing the odds of acceptance without compromising on academic direction. - Helps students select standout activities where they’re most likely to excel and earn distinction—making their application more compelling in the eyes of admissions officers. - Provides expert-backed essay support, including tips for writing powerful, school-specific responses that reflect the student’s authentic voice. - Keeps students on track with reminders and progress tracking, ensuring that all materials—transcripts, essays, test scores, and more—are submitted on time. (Missing application components is one of the top reasons students are denied from their target schools.) With CollegeEase, students don’t just submit more applications—they submit better ones, to the right schools, with every piece completed and polished. The result: a significantly higher chance of getting in.

Q) How does CollegeEase ‘pay for itself’?
CollegeEase provides families with expert-backed strategies to significantly reduce the total cost of college—often by thousands of dollars. The platform walks you through how to legally lower your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is the number colleges use to determine how much financial aid you receive. By strategically reducing income and assets in the years that matter, many families are able to qualify for far more aid than they would on their own. In addition to proactive financial strategies, CollegeEase also guides you through one of the most overlooked opportunities to secure additional funds: filing a financial aid appeal. Over 80% of families who submit an appeal receive increased financial support. Whether due to job loss, a one-time income event, medical expenses, or simply needing a reassessment of your aid package, CollegeEase provides clear steps, letter templates, and instructions on how to make a compelling case. Between increased financial aid, reduced EFC, and strategic appeals, CollegeEase routinely helps families save far more than the cost of a subscription. For many, the savings it unlocks makes it one of the most valuable investments they’ll make in the college process.

Q) Where does your college data come from? How often is it updated? We pull different data from different sources. College requirement and essay data are captured directly from every college. College cost information is furnished by US Dept of Education. College rating data is amassed through a variety of expert reviews and online resources. As soon as this information is updated at the source, CollegeEase reflects those updates in its system.

Q) How are task due dates determined? All dates are customized based on a student’s expected graduation year. We assume that they will begin college later that year. Many tasks in CollegeEase have an ideal due date (like the best time to approach teachers for letters of recommendation or when to complete your target list of colleges). Other dates are based on external factors (like when a college’s applications are due). CollegeEase notifies the student well in advance of the task’s due date, giving them ample time to complete it.

Q) Are there application charges if I apply through CollegeEase? We do not charge any application fees, but we also do not submit your application for you. We show you how to submit each application. Every college has a different way to submit their application and we show you where to submit their application. We also show you how much each school charges for their applications. There are no hidden fees with CollegeEase.
