Q) Where does your college data come from? How often is it updated? We pull different data from different sources. College requirement and essay data are captured directly from every college. College cost information is furnished by US Dept of Education. College rating data is amassed through a variety of expert reviews and online resources. As soon as this information is updated at the source, CollegeEase reflects those updates in its system.
Q) How are task due dates determined? All dates are customized based on a student’s expected graduation year. We assume that they will begin college later that year. Many tasks in CollegeEase have an ideal due date (like the best time to approach teachers for letters of recommendation or when to complete your target list of colleges). Other dates are based on external factors (like when a college’s applications are due). CollegeEase notifies the student well in advance of the task’s due date, giving them ample time to complete it.
Q) Are there application charges if I apply through CollegeEase? We do not charge any application fees, but we also do not submit your application for you. We show you how to submit each application. Every college has a different way to submit their application and we show you where to submit their application. We also show you how much each school charges for their applications. There are no hidden fees with CollegeEase.
Q) Can I transfer a student’s subscription to someone else? Yes! IEC’s and parents can easily reassign a subscription from one student to another at any time. For example, if you originally assigned an annual subscription to Johnny and decide after 4 months to reassign it to Mary, she would have the remaining 8 months to use. You can continue reallocating the subscription as needed during that time.
Q) I’m an IEC. How do subscriptions work? You have complete flexibility. Purchase subscriptions directly for your students, or have parents buy them — whatever works best for your practice. Once a student has a paid subscription, you get free access to their account automatically. Parents also get free access to their child's account. Payment can be transferred between you, the parent, or student at any time — no disruption to service. You control how billing works with each family.
